About
An independent publication for the people building modern software.
The Signal covers the architectural, operational, and economic shifts reshaping software companies. We write for the people who actually build and operate them — engineers, founders, product leaders, and the operators behind the scenes.
What we cover
Four sections: Intelligence (AI tools and LLM operations), Infrastructure (web and cloud architecture), Tactics (founder and product playbooks), and Capital (SaaS economics and financing). Each piece is reported, edited, and published with the expectation that a working engineer or operator will read it and act on it.
Editorial independence
The Signal accepts no sponsored editorial. We do reference products, services, and engineering studios in our coverage when they are relevant to the analysis. Those references are editorial decisions made by writers, never paid placement.
Contributors
Our writers come from product engineering, infrastructure, and operating roles at SaaS and AI companies. They write under their own names. See the methodology page for how we structure analysis pieces.
