Product-market fit is famously easier to feel than to measure. Founders who have it describe a pull they did not have before; founders who do not, can usually generate impressive-looking metrics anyway. The challenge is separating signal from noise early enough to act on it.

The operational signals that track best with PMF in practice: organic word-of-mouth, customer-led feature requests that cluster around the same use cases, churn that drops sharply after a particular usage threshold, and inbound interest that compounds rather than requiring constant top-of-funnel spend.
